Promis.

Begin 2011 by writing a letter to…yourself!

without comments

Write a brief letter to yourself covering the following areas: career, finances, relationships, family, leisure and travel and personal development.

State a few goals succinctly for each of these different areas of your life. Describe to yourself how realizing these goals will improve your life. How will you feel when you have reached your goals? Describe a multisensory scene in which you obtain the benefits of reaching your goals using the present tense. Finally, what positive beliefs will help you reach your goals?

Put your letter away and read it on December 31, 2011. You’ll be astonished with the results!

Lessons from the new science of Positive Psychology

without comments

“Where would you be, what would you have, and how would you think differently if you didn’t let any negative thoughts rent space in your head?”

To change this situation, you first have to acknowledge it. More than simply having positive affirmations, you have to turn them into beliefs and then take action on those beliefs. How? Pay attention to the thoughts you let stream through your head. Are the majority of your thoughts positive or do you let negative thoughts continually stream through your mind? Consciously transition negative thoughts to positive beliefs. When negative things happen to us, we have a tendency to not let them go. We create a story, and if we aren’t careful, it will validate that we are no good. That’s a pattern we can break… Gary Coxe, referring to Positive Psychology in Success Magazine, December 2010.

Want to know more about Positive Psychology and the amazing results attributed to it? Then read:

Positivity, by Barbara L. Fredrickson, Ph.D.
276 pp. Three River Press, 2009

This terrific book describes how to tap into your own sources of positivity and suggests many tools to create a more vibrant life through a process the author calls “the upward spiral. It is one of the best books I have read on the field of Positive Psychology and strongly recommend it.

The Happiness Advantage, by Shawn Achor.
Crown Business, 2010.

A revolutionary new finding! Recent positive psychology studies show that happiness fuels success and not the other way around.
When we are positive, our brains become more engaged, energetic, creative and productive. What are you doing to create happiness in your life?

Pour bâtir une équipe du tonnerre

without comments

“The Secret to building an effective team is to help people soar like eagles.”

(Inspiré par The One Minute Entrepreneur, Ken Blanchard (2008), Random House)

What’s a coach?

without comments

Here’s what Anthony Robbins has to say:

One day, I finally got it. I’m a coach, I thought. To me, a coach is a person who is your friend, someone who really cares about you. A coach is committed to helping you be the best that you can be. A coach will challenge you, not let you off the hook…they can teach you one or two distinctions that can immediately transform your performance in a matter of moments…sometimes coaches can teach you new information, new strategies and skills; they show you how to get measurable results…what I truly am is a success coach. I help to coach people on how to achieve what they really want more quickly and more easily…Thinking of myself as a coach, it immediately changed the way I felt about myself. I felt less stressed, more relaxed; I felt closer to people. I didn’t have to be perfect or better. I began to have more fun and my impact on people multiplied manifold.”

I could not have said it better myself. Allow me to coach you on the path to the success you deserve! info@coachingmcl.com
