How to stay motivated?

without comments

Motivation and success are directly connected. Clients often face challenges getting motivated as they work towards new success goals. I’m not talking about rah-rah motivation. Being motivated is getting your brain and emotions to work for you. The secret? Get very clear on your core values. Motivation shows up and grows as soon as you connect with what is truly important to you. Ask yourself, what do I really want presently?

Get in touch with that and you’ll see your motivation grow tremendously. It really comes down to leveraging your deepest values and connecting them to your goals. That’s what successful people do.

Another secret to staying motivated: focusing on what you want, never on what you don’t want…

Every successful person I know use their mind to stay focused on the outcome they want. Focusing your attention on what you want is the key.

When you focus your mind on the outcome you want, you’ll discover new ideas you can use to reach the goal; it makes you more aware of the resources at your disposal.  It creates motivation to act and it helps you develop the necessary qualities such as imagination and persistence.  Finally, you’ll find yourself attracting people who can help you in attaining your goals!

Contrôler le temps, contrôler sa vie. Que faites-vous avec vos 100 heures ?

without comments

Summertime: a perfect season to begin meditating

without comments

On-going research has revealed all the benefits of meditation. As well as creating a space for ourselves, it refreshes us, helps us see what’s happening now; it makes us more compassionate, and helps us to do better. Meditation is a great stress reliever. Most importantly, meditation creates expanded awareness which contributes to our overall mental and physical health.

One of the hidden powers in meditation is learning new pathways which resist our old conditioned and autopilot reactions to things and events. Developing new thoughts, feelings and behaviors consciously will eventually determine our success.

Suggested reading: 18 MINUTES by Peter Bregman.

Based upon his weekly Harvard Business Review columns, Bregman’s book clearly shows how busy people can cut through all the daily clutter and distractions and find means of focusing on aspects which are truly the top priorities. With time, meditation enables us to create new and more resourceful pathways in our minds.

Greater awareness means creating more choices and possibilities

without comments

The coach helps clients to discover for themselves the new thoughts, beliefs, perceptions, emotions, moods, etc. that strengthen their ability to take action and achieve what is important to them.”     ICF Competency 8

One of the best ways to learn something is to teach or to mentor another individual. I have had the pleasure of acting as a coach leader in a coaching institution as well as having mentored coaches for the past years from the coaching program at Concordia University – and am still actively involved in doing so. As coaches, we all have competencies that we favor – and creating awareness is one of my preferred competencies.

Why create more awareness? Awareness is a power. It is an ability to observe how we create something and then seeing the consequences as they happen. It is a practice of slowing down thoughts long enough to experience them from a different point of view. With new perspectives, we begin to see what is prohibiting us from moving forward. When we break out of our routine thoughts, feelings and emotional patterns, we can use our conscious mind to objectively create new pathways forward as well as new choices. It has an amazingly liberating effect. We choose how we want to feel, act, who we want to attract into our lives and the meaning we confer to events and things.

Préparer la retraite

without comments

  9. Qu’allez-vous faire? Vos premières actions?
  10. Quand?
