  1. Why is coaching so popular today and a good investment? These are exciting times. You have many choices and possibilities. You want to maximize them. You want to live life to the fullest. What’s important to you? Do you have all you want in life? What’s possible for you? Are you asking yourself: Is that all there is? Have you given up on your dreams? Do you want to realize your potential to the fullest? So, it is up to you to decide to realize your best dreams and become the person you have always wanted to be. A professional certified coach is a guide on the way to being the best you can be! Is there a better investment anywhere than investing in yourself?
  2. Where and how does the coaching happen? Except for the first session, which is face to face, coaching is done over the phone, at a pre-arranged time. Sessions last between 50-60 minutes. Usually, the sessions are weekly. If more time is required, this can be easily arranged. The client calls the coach at the designated time. Email is also used in between sessions. Before every session, the client submits a “coaching preparation sheet” which serves as the template for the session. If a client wishes face to face coaching, arrangements can be discussed.
  3. What commitment does a client have to make? I ask my client to commit for a three month period (12 sessions). Obviously, the time-frame varies with each client.The client is billed at the beginning of each block (4 sessions). Also, a client can end the coaching process at any time. A full refund for the payment of the unused sessions is made to the client. If a client decides to terminate his coaching, a written notice must be sent to the coach 7 days beforehand.
  4. What happens when a client has to cancel a session? If a client wishes to change an appointment, this must be done 24 hours before the scheduled session to avoid incurring fees for the cancelled session.
  5. Confidentiality? The coach-client relationship is confidential. For example, the coach would only use the client as a reference with his/her permission. Should concerns and problems occur during the coaching, it is important that the issue be discussed and cleared as soon as possible to maintain a stimulating work environment. As a International Coach Federation certified coach, I subscribe to the ICF Code of Ethics.
  6. What are some advantages of tele-coaching? Face to face coaching is an effective way of working with clients. However, because of time, distance and scheduling constraints, it isn’t always possible to meet a client face to face on a regular basis in a cost-effective way. Tele-coaching is a very effective and practical way of working with a client. Most coaching in North America is done over the phone and by email.I have coached clients long-distance from Alberta, Winnipeg, Ontario and Europe. With a budget long-distance plan or Skype, it can costs under $4.00 for a one hour coaching session.
