Thought for the week

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

From Napoleon Hill via Bob Proctor

“What you think of is what you attract…so create the ‘right’ frequency with your thoughts. Put your brain on a higher frequency. When you change your thinking you change your life. It is important to understand how your mind works…Because there is a difference between wishing for success and being ready to receive it. First, you have to “believe” that you can acquire something. Belief is the key word. And open-mindedness is essential for belief. Become aware. And transmute desire into results. We all have paradigms. These are habits and programs (conditioning) from our past, our background. The multitude of “habits” which cost us time and money. These shape our lives. The habits control our behaviors and the results we get in our lives. Most of us are victims of our paradigms. Most of us work on “autopilot”. Our paradigms shape our perceptions. We often have been programmed to see things that aren’t there. Our life, relationships, wealth are all controlled by our paradigms. Can we change them? The answer is yes. We have options because we have the ability to think and to choose. We can go after what we really want. We can put our past to rest once and for all. We are our own power centers. First, think of what we want. Know that our spiritual DNA is perfect. Because we are spiritual beings having a physical experience, we are able to create. We can control our vibrations and what we attract to ourselves. We are also intellectual and physical beings. Our marvelous minds are loaded and have infinite potential. We are an expression of Infinite power through us. The intellectual world through our ideas manifest as results. We create. We build an idea in our mind, it creates a vibration, and it creates a new entity. Our mind works in images. More important, the conscious mind has the ability to control the subconscious mind. It creates the image on the subconscious mind. We can decide to attract whatever we want into your life, because of this power. So, the key is to change our paradigm. Make a decision to change our paradigm. Change our subconscious mind. Create new ideas, perceptions and habits. Deal with your wants and choose to be successful. When we develop a new paradigm and move into new vibrations with awareness, we will then attract what we want into our lives. This won’t happen by accident. We have to recondition ourselves daily. Our consciousness will expand more and more, day after day.”

Key thoughts from Carnegie

Our greatest power is the capacity to harness our minds. By taking possession and controlling our mind, we can use it to attain all our desires.
All success begins with a clear picture of what we want in life.
When we do this, we have sound health, peace of mind, we have a labor of love, we are free from worry, we have a positive mental attitude and riches.
When we don’t control our mind power, we have ill health, fear and worry, indecision and doubt, frustrations, poverty and want and many evils creep into our lives.
ACTION: On a page, describe the major success you wish to attain in life. Do this without limitations. What desire do you want to attain?
On a second page, make a statement of what you intend to give in return for attaining the major success in your life.
On a third page, remind yourself to re-read pages 1 and 2 at least 2x a day and always finish with a thought of gratitude for all you presently have in your life.

Don’t ask how, but WHAT?

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

Here is a technology that works…

Begin with the vision, the WHAT. Make it as vivid and real as possible.
The larger the vision, the larger the roadblocks.
To make that vision happen, make a commitment. Give your word.
In advance of any proof that the result will be achieved.
Get into action and do the necessary things to hit the target and to get the results.
Roadblocks and obstacles are real.
The key to success is how we ‘look’ at them.
Make an internal shift. Look at these obstacles in a new way.
Transform your context, the way you look at things. The way you ‘hold’ your life.
The breakthrough will come when you don’t let the unbelievability of the obstacle overwhelm the vision.
You don’t resist the roadblocks, don’t pretend they don’t exist or “positive think them into the ground” (doesn’t work).
Make the roadblocks a totality with the vision. Part of the vision. Choose to acknowledge it as part of achieving the desired result. Instead of ” I would like to get my M.A. BUT I don’t have the smarts.” Transform this into ” I have this negative belief that I don’t have the smarts to succeed AND I give my word that I will obtain an M.A. (anyways).”
Replace the BUT by AND…It is creating a new context, a new way of operating. It is coming from your self and what you really want in life as opposed coming from your mind (negative beliefs, opinions, thoughts, feelings, etc…).
It is making an ‘end run’ around your mind which isn’t always your best ally.
When you act in this way, you are responsible. You are choosing an outcome 100% of the time in order to make your life what you want it to be. You aren’t a victim of your past and all your negative beliefs.
You have now created a new way of seeing and living.
It makes the vision happen. This is the true source of your power.
The Success Factor: giving your word, promising to make something happen and being 100% responsible!

Thought of the week

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

You’re not what you have and you’re not what you do; you are more than that…an infinite being disguised as a successful person who has accumulated a certain amount of stuff. The stuff is not you. For that reason, you must avoid being attached to it in any way.

The Power of Purpose by Richard J. Leider

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008

I recommend Leider’s book because it is one of the best I have read on purpose and mission. He has managed to synthesized many key ideas and topics related to purpose in a concise and clear manner.

For anybody wanting to explore the issues related to creating meaning in their life and work, s/he will find this book very worthwhile.
