Become aware of what you focus on…

As a television director and producer, the word “focus’ has a special meaning for me. It evokes all the things I love about television production. It is one of my favorite words.

Did you know that how you feel and how you behave and the results you get in your life are the direct result of what you focus on.

Whatever you focus on, your mind will get busy creating for you, even if it isn’t what you really want. The mind is a powerful tool capable of creating anything you focus on.

Most of the focusing is done unconsciously and unintentionally, unfortunately. The solution,with mindfulness, awareness and meditation, is to learn to focus consciously and intentionally.

How do you know when you focus on something you don’t want? Be aware of your state of mind. If you are stressed, anxious, feeling bad, worried…this is a signal that you are focusing on something you don’t want…

When you catch yourself focusing on something you don’t want, ask yourself immediately: what do I really want? Do this over and over until you get the positive outcomes you seek!

The best kept secret to life? Focus on what you want and keep your mind off of what you don’t want. Try it!
